Enthusiasm and verve
DEVELOPED IN AND CLOSELY BOUND UP WITH GENEVA SINCE THE YEAR 2000, GMT is part of the Swiss watchmaking landscape, whose values it promotes throughout the country and the world. We accompany this magnificent industry through its ups and downs, never giving up and constantly innovating – like the majority of its most dynamic brands. Last year, at the peak of the economic and health crisis, GMT helped launch Geneva Watch Days, of which it is a founding member. We are releasing our GMT XXL World 2021 on the opening day of the second edition of Geneva Watch Days, which this time is associated with Baselworld. We host the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in our offices, and of course our partner site WorldTempus, the world’s most important bilingual watch news site. For Geneva and its hundred or so watch boutiques, we have created the Geneva Watch Tour, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2022. To delight and engage watch enthusiasts from around the world, we have also in recent years created the Watch Photo Awards and the Fine Watch Club. Finally, to mark the 20th anniversary of GMT and WorldTempus, our editorial staff contacted some 30 watchmaking specialists from around the world in order to produce the Millennium Watch Book, an impressive tome explaining – in 300 pages and over 1000 photos – everything there is to know about Haute Horlogerie since the year 2000. Thrilled and touched by the countless enthusiastic reactions from the readers, we have decided to make a collection of ten volumes to be successively published until 2030.
This is how strongly we feel about the magnificent mechanisms gracing the pages you are about to leaf through. This is how our optimism and enthusiasm for the most beautiful watches developed by artisan and brands of all sizes is reflected. The archetypal generosity and verve of the finest brands takes on the colours of the Only Watch biennial, of which GMT has been a staunch devotee since its inception. We include a selection of these in this editorial tour of the high-end watchmaking universe, driven by its major groups and independent brands of various sizes, and above all by their extraordinary creativity in all its magnificent diversity.
