IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH ONLY WATCH, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT IT IS THE MOST INCREDIBLE WATCH BIENNIAL, and that the 2019 edition reflects the extent to which all watch brands respect this event and the values it conveys. Closely involved with the project right from its inception, GMT is proud and happy to present a glimpse of the unique pieces designed to support and belong to the Only Watch family. This year is further marked by the creation of the Fine Watch Club, the first international watch owners club, which enlivens and promotes fine watchmaking worldwide, notably by working closely with many of the watch brands present in this edition. The quality of these creations is generally exceptional, since they have almost all won at least one award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year and of which your GMT magazine is also a strong supporter. Doubtless even more visible than their intrinsic qualities, their diversity reminds us of the extent to which micromechanics pushes the boundaries of an apparently unlimited creative universe. Some break records for thinness, others for sales ; most of them are regularly distinguished by patent applications reflecting their spirit of innovation – not to mention their conquering spirit driving them to tame the oceans, or simply making us want to feel their heart beating against our skin. Their profiles range from the oldest watch brand in interrupted activity to niche manufactures born at the dawn of the third millennium. Your wrist is well and truly served.
