Are you interested in Haute Horlogerie? Are you a watches aficionado? Since 2000, GMT Magazine tells you more about the inside of watchland.
Have you, like me, ever felt the innocent childhood pleasure of dipping your hand into one of those big glass jars filled with a rainbow assortment of multicolored candies, wrapped in a glittering sugar coating? My parents would give me permission to grab just one, but the choice was invariably incredibly tough. Why was I asked to choose, anyway, when I could have it all? At least visually… It’s one of those snippets of childhood and its carefree lightness of whichthis Lady by GMT special edition, whose pages annually scatter all the colors of precious creations designed to put a sparkle in our eyes, reminds me. After preparing this issue, I must confess that my ‘sweet tooth’ remains unfettered and my sense of guilt entirely absent.
All this because, as the poet Louis Aragon wrote, “it is permissible to dream”. To dream of being able to follow the latest trends in watchmaking, to dream of being able to afford these watches orchestrating the grand comeback of tiny diameters
with maximal effect. To dream and dare to wear them in resolutely fluid ways. The trend is for watches to be transformed into jewelry and vice versa. They can be worn around the neck, placed close to the heart, encircling the waist or adorned with an audio device. The versatility that inspired our beautiful photoshoot also applies to jewelry, whose sentimental symbolism we explore in our dedicated section. By summer 2025, the latter will have morphed into a new trilingual quarterly magazine published by GMT Publishing, entirely devoted to the world of jewelry, for women and men
alike with no gender boundaries. To convey the values and creativity of the great Maisons and independent
designers, to explore the latest trends, to learn about expertise and precious stones. A magazine to inspire and indulge in that delectably ‘sweet’ poetic touch that adds unique flavor to our lives.
