Are you interested in Haute Horlogerie? Are you a watches aficionado? Since 2000, GMT Magazine tells you more about the inside of watchland.
A 2024 report, published conjointly by Bain & Company and Comité Colbert, noted that luxury brands remained cautious about incorporating AI solutions into their creative processes. The report attributed this reluctance to “fear of a possible substitution of creative teams by AI, which would result in the loss of the
very essence and exclusivity of luxury, which must innovate in a singular way to awaken customers’ desire (…).” Less than two years later, we see a very different picture. Word by word, trained on vast amounts of data, large language models (LLM) promise increased efficiency and improved productivity. The world is changing and we can’t stand in its way. Yet these tools lack the passion, the emotional intelligence, the connectedness that separate humans from machines. Put simply, the perfect imperfections that spark
emotions and infuse the pages of our magazine. What motivates our editorial team? What do we hope to convey to you, our readers? The extraordinary skills required to create high jewelry pièces uniques; the determination of the independent jewelry scene’s emerging talents to push creative boundaries; the respect that storied houses show for their heritage—and their capacity to reinvent themselves; the intimate relationship each of us has with the jewelry we wear. Step inside these pages, journey through our website
and our social media posts, and you’ll encounter men and women who nurture a passion for precious stones, for jewelry elevated to the rank of art, for understanding the trends that hint at how we inhabit the world, through different eras. With words that are imperfect but true, with images that are imperfect yet sensitive, we embrace innovation as much as we defend history. Our magazine is on the verge of its own history. Like the sentiments inspired by the fabulous creations that fill these pages, we have poured our emotions into this second chapter. Come with us, and enjoy the read!
